ILLUM light
BOLIGHUS home
We sculpt darkness. Sculptural designer lamps, circadian systems and full architectural light planning for homes, cabins and boutique hotels. 2700K warmth, zero glare, 100% hygge.
We are a house
of light
Illum Bolighus — “illuminated dwelling” — was founded in a Copenhagen attic with one lamp, one lux-meter and a big obsession: why does Nordic light feel like home?
From Illum department store glow to mountain cabins — we design light that cares for eyes, skin and sleep.
We are architects, electricians and former theatre light designers. We measure daylight, study your routines, then layer three lights in every room: ambient glow, task focus and soulful accent. No cold blue ceilings. No flicker. Only soft, shadow-rich warmth.
- ✦ Light anthropology — we interview your evenings before we draw a single cable.
- ✦ Nordic minimalism — lamps disappear by day, glow like moons by night.
- ✦ Circadian automation — 4000K morning focus → 2200K candle dinner, automatic.
- ✦ 5-year warranty — and spare parts for 20 years. Buy once, glow forever.
Founders — “Darkness is our canvas, warmth is our paint.”

What is circadian lighting and do I need it?
Yes, if you stare at screens after 20:00. Circadian systems shift from cool energizing light in the morning to ultra-warm dim light at night, supporting melatonin. Our clients report +38% morning energy in 3 weeks.
How much does a full home light plan cost?
Audit + plan from 4 900 kr for apartments, 9 900 kr for villas. Lamps extra. Most 3-room homes land at 28 000–45 000 kr all-in with installation.
Are your lamps smart-home compatible?
All 2025-2026 lamps support Matter, Philips Hue, KNX and DALI-2. Works with phone, wall dial or voice. No hub required for basic dimming.
Do you ship outside Denmark & Norway?
We ship EU-wide in 5-7 days, with electrician partners in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Oslo, Bergen, Stockholm and Berlin.
